Adamantyr’s Map Legend
Adamantyr began working on his hex art in August 1999, working in MS Paint to draw the icons by hand, pixel by pixel. The style is a slight adaptation of the official art, with highlights and shading giving a subtle three dimensional feel. The palette is far lighter and brighter than the published maps, drawing inspiration from 8-bit computer games. This drives home the fact that, as with most fan-made maps of Mystara, Adamantyr’s maps are clearly intended for the screen rather than print.
This particular version of the legend dates from February 2000, making it concurrent with many of Adamantyr’s Savage Coast maps.
