Dragon 153 Outer World
The first episode of the Voyage of the Princess Ark series in January 1990 presented a reprint of the 1985 Master Set‘s world map, with the rather hyperbolic red text, “WRONG WRONG WRONG!” overlaid on top. The article itself was the springboard for Haldemar and his flying ship’s illustrious explorations of Mystara, and it was very much written around this map.
Even though the massive red text at first glance shouts at us that the map is wrong, the article itself is full of Bruce Heard’s trademark quirky humour, and by the end of the episode it is clear that the map actually holds a lot of truth. This was borne out by later episodes, as well as later products in the Mystara line, which adapted most of the names from the original map into various geographic names.
I did a full analysis of the text at The Piazza back in 2008.
