Norwold, 24 miles per hex, realigned (1987)
This region received a number of changes in 1987. Norwold itself gained a major new lake southwest of Oceansend, shown on M4’s Norwold & Alphatia, 150 miles per hex map. I have added an island around the volcano to reconcile this with CM1’s Norwold. M4 also added the town of Lighthall and Lake Ashtagon. I have expanded its source and outflow, the River Ashtagon, to join the nearby mountains with the coast. The other major change was to the Isle of Dawn, which was radically changed in M5 — especially the northern tip. This has also been redrawn to fit the actual scale, since M5’s map was out of scale. Finally, the hex art has been revised to match the new Gazetteer series Legend, which allows us to mark glaciers and snow plains at last.
Note: This is an alternate version of the main Norwold map, realigned to match Brun’s hex grid. As such it is a little less accurate, but it fits perfectly with other maps of Brun at this scale. For the main map, with its peculiar rotation left as is, see Norwold, 24 miles per hex (1987).
Chronological Map (April 2023)
This map is part of the Mystara 1987 series of chronological maps. It is an updated map, incorporating all available sources and made internally consistent with other maps in its series. But it only uses sources published in or before 1987.
For more information, see Appendix C: Cartographic Chronology.
