Sturm’s Brun, 24 miles per hex v1
On 1st October 2011, Francesco was finally ready to reveal what he had been working on: a full map of Brun at 24 miles per hex. He did so in a surprisingly off-hand way, posting it in a thread discussing Andrea Francolini’s World Map at The Piazza. This made sense because the discussion had turned to the ways other fans were adapting Andrea’s map — and this is exactly what Francesco had been doing.
As with his Norwold and Midlands maps, he used Andrea’s 2005 Brun map as a base, modifying things to his liking. He noted that he referred to the work of DJ Shade (aka birchbeer) for the eastern parts of his map. Of course he kept his own Norwold, and adapted his 8 mile per hex Adri Varma Plateau for that region, and his version of the Midlands and the Yalu Sea is identical to his earlier map, referencing the work of Christian Constantin.
For more details of Francesco’s changes, see his original post at The Piazza.
He would return to this map a few years later for some major updates.
