Håvard’s Brun
This was one of the first maps that longtime community member Håvard shared, way back in April 2000. He posted about it on the Mystara Mailing List, which was the main venue for Mystara fans at the time. He suggested that it would make a good player handout.
This particular map was a redo of the Master Set version of Brun, with labels from the later Hollow World Set world map added in. Håvard explained that the maps were “hand-drawn, computer enhanced”.
Decades later, this map may seem a bit primitive to what we tend to have nowadays. But in hindsight it was also a clear hint that Håvard would do things differently with his maps: he chose an overview map in non-hex style, performing a clear function that other mappers hadn’t really covered at the time — just as he has continued to do in his maps ever since.
