Mystara’s second year in publication was also its least prolific in terms of maps, with just a single map the whole year. Moreover, that map was an excerpt from a previous map, with just a single new town marked. This paragraph, small as it is, has already provided more information than Mystara’s 1982 map additions.
But this sorry situation would turn out to have been the calm before the storm, as every successive year would bring new additions and revisions to the world’s geography.
The Maps
These maps have been made internally consistent, adopting the most detailed shapes and positions of each element.
Note that maps remaining unchanged from previous years do not appear here. Since 1982 was such an eventless year, only the Known World map has been updated; the rest of the maps all remain their 1981 versions, for which see Mystara 1981.
- Art — the printed style from 1981’s Expert Rulebook‘s Legend.
- Fonts — Souvenir, continued from the previous year.
