Great Waste, 24 miles per hex (1984)
There were almost no additions to this area in 1984, but X6’s Wild Lands map did present the southern portion of the Great Waste, expanding it to the coast. In doing so, a couple of tiny alterations were made to this map’s southern edge, where half of an oasis hex and the source of a river are now visible. At the same time, X7 provided sea depths for the adjacent Known World area. Although that did not include the small area of coast in the southeast of this map, I have expanded the deep water area ever so slightly in order to avoid leaving a hard edge.
Chronological Map (August 2021)
This map is part of the Mystara 1984 series of chronological maps. It is an updated map, incorporating all available sources and made internally consistent with other maps in its series. But it only uses sources published in or before 1984.
For more information, see Appendix C: Cartographic Chronology.

- Depths — The depths shown here are extrapolated from the adjacent Known World area, so as not to leave a sharp edge where X7’s map ended.
