Agathokles’ Saffir, 2.3 miles per hex
Saffir appeared in AC10 Bestiary of Dragons and Giants back in 1987. It wasn’t given an official location, but the Italian Mystara Community placed it in Norwold, inland from Lighthall in their seminal work on the Norwold map.
Many years later, Giampaolo expanded upon this region, first with his Skaufskogr maps, then later with this larger scale map of the City-State of Saffir. Although his map dates to 2018, it is most well known for its appearance in Threshold #25, which didn’t appear until 2020.
Most of the content of this map was new, while the rest was drawn from Giampaolo’s previous smaller-scale maps of the area. Note that the scale is (as far as I know) another first — as is usual for Giampaolo’s maps.
For much more information on Saffir and its surroundings, see Giampaolo’s article in Threshold #25.
