Anondson’s Great Waste & Hule, 8 miles per hex
This is the first map in Eric Anondson’s Re-arranged Known World project. For a lot of details on his design choices, see his overview at the Vaults of Pandius, as well as his Mappers of Mystara article here at the Atlas.
The oldest surviving version of this map dates back to August 2010 (the third map below). Sadly, software problems prevented Eric from completing the map. He did, however, publish it online in 2014 (the second version below), and then again in 2022 at high resolution, thanks to computer advances in the intervening years.
Eric’s re-envisaged Great Waste area has some major departures from regular Mystara: Ylaruam displaces Sind, which itself has moved to the west of the region; and Ethengar has moved up onto the Adri Varma Plateau. It also includes his own imagining of Hule, which is rather different from Christian’s Hule.
