Christian’s Central Brun, 24 miles per hex
Christian’s last map to date actually went unreleased for some time. But he worked on it together with Matthew Fleet, and in Christian’s absence Matthew eventually decided to post it on his behalf. Matthew explained as follows:
I’m also now posting a previously unseen map by Christian Constantin, which he completed whilst working with me on our Midlands mapping project. I was going to ask him whether he was happy for me to post it here, but as he appears to have disappeared from the Piazza for the time being, I have decided to post it anyway on the assumption that he wouldn’t mind. His map covers some of the area on my map, and also an area to the South West of it, including all of Hule.
Outer World: Upper Borean Valley & the Midlands: 24 Mile Hex, Matthew Fleet at The Piazza, 20th October 2014
The map itself is a revision of Christian’s 1999 map of the same region, bringing it up to date with developments in the fifteen years since its publication. Especially of note is the adjusted location of the Yalu Sea, and the resulting tweaks to the lands between it and Hule — specifically the Great Zdredanyan Forest and the Bazdayan Hills.
It’s wonderful to see the original map adapted in this way, and the method of adaptation provides inspiration for further tweaks to the area, which are almost certainly needed to bring the map into line with the Atlas of Mystara’s updated maps series.
