Cthulhudrew’s Great Crater, 8 miles per hex
Andrew “Cthulhudrew” Theisen’s first posted map of Mystara was this update of the Glantri’s Great Crater. It added developments in the area up to 1015 AC, bringing it into line with the Mystaran Almanacs, as well as his own ideas for the region.
This was the first fan-made map to tackle the crater, which had previously appeared in Glantri: Kingdom of Magic three years earlier. Andrew added detail to the terrain, replacing the earlier map’s bare rocky desert and surrounding mountains with some swamps, fungi, wasteland and broken lands. In fact, the only real details that originate in the earlier map are Marrow Lake, its river tributary, and the rough shape of the crater itself.
Moreover, this was the first of a series of three maps detailing the crater. The next would follow about a month later, with the last appearing the next year, in 1999.
