GAZ10 Tribal Migrations
This map from GAZ10 took an excerpt from the Master Set world map and added some colour. That formed the base for the migration map — but it can also serve as a base for adding colour to the whole Master Set world map.
The map included extensive chronological information on the movements of humanoid populations.

Chronological Analysis
This is Map 102. It was published in January 1989. The updated version of this map has not yet been released. See also Appendix C for annual chronological snapshots of the area. For the full context of this map in Mystara’s publication history, see Let’s Map Mystara 1989.
The following lists are from the Let’s Map Mystara project. Additions are new features, introduced in this map; Revisions are changes to previously-introduced features; Hex Art & Fonts track design elements; and finally Textual Additions are potential features found in the related text. In most cases, the Atlas adopts these textual additions into updated and chronological maps.

Additions
- Lakes — The Cradle is a new name for the large lake in central Brun that originated in the Companion Set.
- Rivers — Although both rivers first appeared on the Companion Set continental map, Borea River and Yalu River are named here for the first time.
- Settlements — Ancient Blackmoor is shown to have been at the fork of the Borea River. Khuzud sounds like the name of a city or nation on the Yalu River — at least in 1296 BC.
- Terrain — Upper Borean Valley, and by extension Borean Valley are new adaptations of the Master Set label Borea.
Revisions
- Seas — Izondian Deep is a new name for the Western Sea, clearly derived from the Master Set’s Izonda, which also features on this map.
- Spellings — Hyboria is used here for the previous Hyborea.
Hex Art & Fonts
- Symbols — Simple line art, in the style of the Master Set world map, but with the Gazetteer standard colour palette.
- Fonts — Feinen. The timeline uses Helvetica.
Textual Additions (GAZ10)
- Spellings — Hyboria is present once in the text as well as the Tribal Migrations map (DM’s Book, page 4).
Analysis
This map was surely the first to reveal Bruce Heard’s strategy for expanding the wider world of Mystara, adapting existing names and locations to provide new labels and details for the map. We can clearly see this here in Izondian Deep, Borea River, and Borean Valley — and of course now we know that there were many more of these to come.
