Gulluvia, 6 miles per hex (1981)
Placing B3’s Gulluvia map in relation to the Known World has long been a problem for Mystara fans, ever since the original B3 Palace of the Silver Princess was released online in 2000. Placing it in its original context of 1981, without access to any later sources, is even harder.
These maps do just that, using the listed scale to determine the scale, then adding a 6 mile hex grid for good measure. The placement was very tricky, but I eventually settled on a solution that allows all of the map to be kept as is, by taking B3’s plateau to be a second, higher step up to the plateau. The other changes from the replica map are detailed in the notes on that post — especially “Textual Additions” at the bottom.
Chronological Maps (August 2021)
This map is part of the Mystara 1981 series of chronological maps. It is an updated map, incorporating all available sources and made internally consistent with other maps in its series. But it only uses sources published in or before 1981.
For more information, see Appendix C: Cartographic Chronology.

Revisions
For detailed notes, see the posts for each individual source map at the links above.
- Plateaus — the placement of Gulluvia on X1’s plateau has been set so that the Velders “bump” coincides with the edge of the plateau. This has the added bonus of allowing the rest of B3’s plateau to be left as another “step” to the top of the plateau proper, without cutting either B3’s map or X1’s plateau.
