Jason Hibdon’s Broken Lands, 8 miles per hex
In April 2020, Jason Hibdon began posting a wonderful series of maps to the Mystara Reborn group on Facebook. He used Campaign Cartographer 3+ to draft the maps, basing them on the Atlas of Mystara 8 mile per hex series. The result is a stunning conversion of Mystara’s traditional hex art to a modern art style.
This Broken Lands map was the last of Jason’s first wave. He first posted it at the end of April, then took a slight detour through X1 and X11 maps before revisiting his early maps the next month to match his evolving style, de-hexifying the borders, adding a background texture to the hills, and making light forests look less regular. Both versions are presented below, beginning with the latest one, from May 2020.
