Jacob’s Aland, 8 miles per hex
Like the neighbouring Domain of Thorholm, GAZ7 listed Aland as the subject domain of another clan. In this case Jacob decided that the ruling clan is Varmgard (the big domain to the west), with the son of Varmgard’s jarl in charge of Aland. He also added a few details about Ostland’s colony on the Isle of Dawn, which is the project of Aland’s jarl.

Textual Additions (Complete Domains of Ostland, 2000-2002)
- Colony — Aland has a colony on the Isle of Dawn to the east. Jacob calls it the Colony of Aland, noting that it has “a few hundred” colonists. The colony has only just been founded and is in its infancy.
- Rulers — Gunnbjorn Askoldson rules here in the name of his father, Askold Ubbison. Both belong to Clan Varmgard. When Gunnbjorn is away at the colony on the nearby Isle of Dawn, Gunnbjorn’s wife Erika the Crow is in charge. Askold is from GAZ7, but Gunnbjorn and Erika are new characters created by Jacob.
- Settlements — The population of Vinterdal is listed as 300.
