Jacob’s Fallersholm, 8 miles per hex

Jacob returned to his project with a vengeance in April 2001, with his article for the Clan Domain of Fallersholm. Not only did he include the village listed in GAZ7, but he also revised the borders to give the domain a sea border, placing a new village there, too. This is entirely in keeping with the Gazetteer, which noted that none of Ostland’s domains are landlocked.

This is an original map created by one of Mystara’s excellent fan cartographers. For more information on the cartographer, including a gallery of all their maps, see also Appendix M: Mappers of Mystara.

The Atlas has been unable to contact the original cartographer. This map therefore appears here without explicit permission from its creator. Any information on how to get in touch with them would be most welcome.

Chronological Analysis

This is a fan-made map. It was probably published in April 2001. The updated Atlas version of this map is not yet available. Additions

• Settlements — The villages of Kirkesdahl and Karlshavn. Kirkesdahl is from the table of Ostland Clans and Dominions (GAZ7 Player’s Book page 13), and appears for the first time on a map here. Karlshavn is entirely new.

Revisions

• Borders — Fallersholm now has a tiny sliver of land on the coast of Zea Bay. GAZ7’s hex map was not large enough scale to show this, though its text did state that “No Ostland domains are landlocked” (GAZ7 page 13). So Jacob’s revision of the border here is in keeping with GAZ7.

Hex Art & Fonts

• Hex Art — Highly saturated Campaign Cartographer 2 non-hex art style.
• Font — Arial.

Textual Additions (Complete Domains of Ostland, 2000-2002)

• Borders — Fallersholm’s access to Zea Bay is through “a small strip of land granted to Fallersholm by the domain of Zeamark”.
• Rulers — Karlsefni Garson is the Jarl, Head of Clan Fallersholm. Although the name was listed in GAZ7 (Player’s Book page 13), Jacob worked up a full description.
• Settlements — The population of Kirkesdahl is listed as 470, while Karlshavn is 440.
