Joshuan’s Almanac Known World 1012 AC
This was one of a pair of maps in Joshuan’s Almanac showing major events in the Known World. Both maps were very similar, with one focusing on 1012 AC, the other on 1013.
The map was the only full representation of the whole Known World region (other than the poster maps) in the Almanac series. It depicted the area in the established Almanac style, though with even less detail than usual for these maps. There were a few peculiarities, such as the representation of the Great Crater using the same art as the lakes (which is why the replica here has the crater filled in as a lake); and the lack of any kind of plateau art other than stark black lines (I added small hatch marks for the sake of clarity).
In terms of content, the events were the main feature, but none of them had much effect on the geography. So as with most of the Almanac maps, there wasn’t much new detail here to speak of. One interesting point was that it showed capital cities rather than countries, and there were no political borders marked.
