Mystaros’ Taymora 3000-2000 BC, 24 miles per hex
Building on his sketch of an area map a couple of months earlier, James created the first ever hex map of the Known World in the era before its southern parts fell beneath the seas. This is the Known World of Taymora, in the third millennium BC.
James’s design incorporated his previous terrain for ancient Nithia, while adding the lands of Taymora that would later become the island nations of Ierendi and Minrothad. This all went together with his gazetteer for Taymora.
A few years later, Geoff Gander made a revised version of the same area and period, while Giampaolo Agosta added settlements and labels to his version of James’s map.
Much later, in 2015, James re-discovered the original hand-drawn map upon which his digital map was based, and shared a scan of it on his blog.
