Savage Coast, 22.9 miles per hex (1985)
The Savage Coast was mapped at a different rotation (approximately 2º) from the rest of Brun. Its hex maps were also slightly off scale, so that to fit them to the continental map the scale needs to be reinterpreted from 24 to 22.9 miles per hex. This map combines the original map with the non-hex map that was used as a background for the first pages of the module, along with previous details from 1983’s Hule map — which have of course been adjusted to match the 22.9 mile scale.
All future developments to the area were based on this map, so the need to rescale will have a knock-on effect which we will return to in future maps.
Note: this map follows the original’s 22.9 mile per hex scale. For a redrawn 24 mile per hex version, see Savage Coast, 24 miles per hex (1985).
Chronological Map (January 2022)
This map is part of the Mystara 1985 series of chronological maps. It is an updated map, incorporating all available sources and made internally consistent with other maps in its series. But it only uses sources published in or before 1985.
For more information, see Appendix C: Cartographic Chronology.

Revisions
For detailed notes, see the posts for each individual source map at the links above.
- Depths — The area’s depths have been adapted from all available sources, including the Jurassic Earth map. X9’s map showed depths in its own unique style, which doesn’t really fit with other sources to date, but they have been left as is for now.
- Scale — The Slagovich area and southern Hule have been adjusted to match this map’s unique scale.
- Terrain — Details from X9’s non-hex map have been incorporated. This primarily affects the Yazak Steppes and its neighbouring forests in the northern half of the map.
