Thibault’s Davania, 24 miles per hex mid 2001
Thibault’s archives included a draft combined version of his mid 2001 Davania files. Although the file is dated October 2002, he had already posted the completed map as early as March 2002, so this file is likely older than the date stamp indicates. Since it provides a nice snapshot of the state of the project in its first stages, it seems more than worthy of our consideration here at the Atlas of Mystara. I have edited it to include all of Thibault’s early to mid 2001 Davania files, which ran from March until May 2001. After that, it appears that Thibault was busy with other things until he returned to the project once more in October.
The map is comprised of the following sections: Cestia (May 2000); Adakkian Sound, Adakkian Sound South, Brasol East, Brasol West, Izonda East, Izonda West, Jungle Coast, Jungle Coast East, Pelatan East, Pelatan West (March 2001); Vulture Peninsula (April 2001); Oceania (May 2001). (Those with largely completed terrain have their own posts here at the Atlas, while the rest are presented below, under the draft map.)
As you can see, large portions of the map in the northeast were already detailed, while the west and south were in varying states of progress, and a large chunk of Vulcania was still missing altogether. Notably missing were the rivers, which must have come afterwards. Note the varying stages of Thibault’s conversion process, first turning 72 mile hexes into groups of seven 24 mile hexes, with black spaces in between (Izonda in the top left); then filling the black spaces with the adjacent terrain (Brasol in the centre bottom); and finally roughing this up and adding fine detail, making it look organic (Arypt and the whole Jungle Coast area, top right).
For a full discussion, see the post for the finished map.

Chronological Analysis
This is a fan-made map. It was published in 2001. The updated Atlas version of this map is not yet available. See also Appendix C for annual chronological snapshots of the area. For the full context of this map in Mystara’s publication history, see the upcoming Let’s Map Mystara 2001. (Please note that it may be some time before the project reaches this point.)
The following lists are from the Let’s Map Mystara project. Additions are new features, introduced in this map; Revisions are changes to previously-introduced features; Hex Art & Fonts track design elements; and finally Textual Additions are potential features found in the related text. In most cases, the Atlas adopts these textual additions into updated and chronological maps.
