Thibault’s Mystara, 72 miles per hex 1999
By the end of 1999, Thibault had published three more additions to his 1998 collection of 72 mile per hex maps.
The primary addition was of course most of Skothar, which he based on Christian Constantin’s Skothar map. But he also made some tweaks to Davania (notably Vulcania, presented second below) and added Norwold and Hyborea.
Once again, Brun remained paradoxically the least complete of the three continents, and the Savage Coast and Midlands areas remained entirely missing. In fact, Thibault released maps of all of these areas in 1999, but at the more detailed 24 mile per hex scale. Consequently, it would not be long before he recreated them at this scale, too.
Also missing is Alphatia — or rather, half of it, as it appeared on the edge of the western Skothar map, but not on the Brun area map. This, too, would soon be remedied, as Thibault was already working on the area at the very end of the year, planning to publish his Alphatian Sea, 72 mile per hex map at the start of the new millennium.
It’s worth noting here that Thibault had not yet produced a combined version of all his maps — likely for technical reasons. I created both the combined map below and the previous 1998 version in 2021 to show the extent of Thibault’s coverage at the time. This, too, would change in 2000, when he began to create mega maps of his own.

Chronological Analysis
This is a combination of fan-made maps. They were published in 1999. The combined map was created in 2021. The updated Atlas version of this map is not yet available. See also Appendix C for annual chronological snapshots of the area. For the full context of this map in Mystara’s publication history, see the upcoming Let’s Map Mystara 1999 and 2021. (Please note that it may be some time before the project reaches this point.)
The following lists are from the Let’s Map Mystara project. Additions are new features, introduced in this map; Revisions are changes to previously-introduced features; Hex Art & Fonts track design elements; and finally Textual Additions are potential features found in the related text. In most cases, the Atlas adopts these textual additions into updated and chronological maps.
