Thibault’s Shadow Elves Caverns, 8 miles per hex
Thibault worked up underground symbols for Grid in early January 2000, completing the two maps from GAZ13 shortly afterwards.
This is the main geographical map of the Shadow Elves’ territories, showing the incredible network of caverns beneath the Known World. It’s a faithful rendition of GAZ13’s map into Thibault’s style, with all of the rivers, lava flows, and labels lovingly reproduced on top of the terrain from Grid.
It’s interesting to see how Thibault tweaked the limited 16-colour palette to evoke a slightly different feel from the usual overland maps.
