Thibault’s Western Davania, 8 miles per hex
This has to be Thibault’s most ambitious project of all: Davania at 8 miles per hex. It’s a massive undertaking, especially for a continent with few existing maps at that scale. Nevertheless, he was able to complete the first draft of both halves of the map.
He started work on this second section in March 2003, finishing in early April. The map covers the western two fifths of the continent, converting Thibault’s Davania, 24 miles per hex map to the new larger scale. Clearly he had the conversion down to a fine art at this point, as it only took just over a week. It’s very much a first draft, with just the initial stage of Thibault’s conversion process done.
After bringing it this far, unfortunately he never returned to continue the process. At around this time he also began the process of converting to Hexmapper, and it may be that that took up all of his time. Whatever the case, even unfinished, this remains the closest the community has come to mapping Davania at this scale.
