Brun (1985)
This update to Brun’s continental map adds the Savage Coast as a region, replacing the area with X9’s more detailed coastline and incorporating its river systems. 1985 also saw the release of the world map, and its regional labels have been adopted here in addition to the boxed regions of the continental map. Finally, four more seas have been named thanks to X9 and M1.
The interaction of the Master Set map’s borders with the continental map’s region boxes is rather complex. Instead of attempting to resolve this, I have just included both, although I did adapt the Master Set borders to fit the more detailed mountains of this map.
Chronological Map (January 2022)
This map is part of the Mystara 1985 series of chronological maps. It is an updated map, incorporating all available sources and made internally consistent with other maps in its series. But it only uses sources published in or before 1985.
For more information, see Appendix C: Cartographic Chronology.

Revisions
For detailed notes, see the posts for each individual source map at the links above.
- Borders — the Master Set’s borders have been adapted to the continental map. Specifically, the parts where they clearly follow the mountains have been fixed so that they still follow the more detailed mountains of this map. This is especially relevant for the borders around the Great Waste, where the Black Mountains form a natural border between the regions.
- Coasts — X9’s coastline has been substituted in.
- Seas — X9 named the Western Sea, while M1 provided names for the Sea of Dawn, the Alphatian Sea, and the Norzee.
