Anondson’s Known World North, 8 miles per hex
In 2014, Eric Anondson revealed his Re-Arranged Known World project. This is the northern half, showing lands from Alfheim and Lake Amsorak in the south up to the northern extents of the Adri Varma Plateau and Wendar.
Eric’s Mystara is a reimagining of the Known World we are used to, with a view to reconciling all of the various criticisms that many have levelled at the original design over the years. The main features of this northern part are: the shift of Ylaruam west to the edge of the Sind Desert; the removal of Ethengar to the Adri Varma Plateau, where Eric was able to expand it to cover a far larger area; and the ensuing reshuffle to fill the gaps left in Ylaruam and Ethengar’s previous locations, with Rockhome moving up next to Glantri, Heldann shifting down to Ylaruam’s vacated spot, and various other changes. Eric’s overview at the Vaults has all the details, if you’d like to know more.
This project was the first to redo the Known World in such detail. For more on this, see also his Mappers of Mystara article.
The most recent map is a high resolution export, with slightly different art and palette. Two older versions are also available below.
