Brun, 24 miles per hex (1984)

This map combines at least eight major maps into a single contiguous view of the continent as of 1984. The main underlying map is the Companion Set/CM1 continental map, which I have enlarged to match 24 mile per hex resolution. On top of this I first placed the Brun, 24 miles per hex (1983) map, which includes the Known World, the Great Waste, and Hule from 1983. Then I added all the new sources for those for 1984, including especially the Sea of Dread Parchment map from XSOLO and the Sea of Dread Underwater map from X7, as well as two new regions: Norwold from CM1 and the Serpent Peninsula from X6.

As CM1’s Norwold hex map was rotated slightly compared to the other Brun maps, I have completely redrawn it to this map’s hex grid. The resulting map is not quite as accurate as the standalone map, which remains the authoritative source for this area, but the resulting contiguous map is more than good enough for our purposes.

There are some rough edges here and there, as at this point there just wasn’t enough information. This especially affects the sea depths, which rather abruptly cut off where X6 and X7’s maps end. Future years will solve this problem little by little as new developments appear.

This map is part of the Mystara 1984 series of chronological maps. It is an updated map, incorporating all available sources and made internally consistent with other maps in its series. But it only uses sources published in or before 1984.
