Mystaros’ Archduchy of Karameikos, 8 miles per hex

In mid 2005, James sent me a proposal to work up his own version of Karameikos. This was connected with his HackWurld of Mystaros, which unfortunately did not come to fruition. I worked up a partial version of his draft, featuring just the revised area within Karameikos’ borders, but never finished it off.

It wasn’t until 2021, when I was posting James’s maps to this site, that I came back to the map. I managed to find the old e-mails about it, and talked with James about finishing it off. I finally came to doing this another year later, in May 2022.

James’s draft showed all of Karameikos, with quite extensive additions and a few changes, including to the borders with neighbouring nations. His accompanying text outlined less extensive changes to those other nations, such as hiding the details inside Alfheim’s borders and adding the “Orcwall” series of forts to the Five Shires/Karameikos border. I have incorporated all of these into the map.
