Thibault’s Adakkian Sound, 24 miles per hex
This work-in-progress map of Davania’s Adakkian Sound region represents the first step of a new project for Thibault: Davania at 24 miles per hex. Over the course of the next year, he systematically converted the whole continent to the more detailed scale, adding a huge amount of fine detail in the process. All of these maps were based on his Davania, 72 mile per hex map, which in turn was based on Geoff’s Davania, 72 miles per hex. (Although Thibault’s finished Davania, 72 mile per hex map wasn’t posted until a month after this map, it was almost certainly in development at the same time.)
It’s possible there were other, more complete versions of this map between this first version and the full Davania map, but if so they are lost to us. In any case, the final map includes rivers, but this one is straight from Grid, so it only has the base terrain, with Grid’s base palette.

Chronological Analysis
This is a fan-made map. It was published in 2001. The updated Atlas version of this map is not yet available. See also Appendix C for annual chronological snapshots of the area. For the full context of this map in Mystara’s publication history, see the upcoming Let’s Map Mystara 2001. (Please note that it may be some time before the project reaches this point.)
The following lists are from the Let’s Map Mystara project. Additions are new features, introduced in this map; Revisions are changes to previously-introduced features; Hex Art & Fonts track design elements; and finally Textual Additions are potential features found in the related text. In most cases, the Atlas adopts these textual additions into updated and chronological maps.

i think I used paint shop pro to change the palette…
not sure though.
i ay have written my process somewhere sometimes, and likely shared it … so it must be in my yahoo account around that time, in the “sent” section.

You mentioned Paint Shop Pro in many MML posts. I used to use it back then, too.
I’d love to see any writings you made about your process. I have the article from your old site, of course, now at the Vaults here. But for me the real secret is the last step, where you add the organic details. It’s more art than science at that point, and you were really good at it!
