Thibault’s Heldann, 8 miles per hex v2
Having completed the first version using his older hex art in March 2000, Thibault soon worked up a new version, which was ready by May. However, finishing off the linework and labels took some time longer, with work completed in November. All that remained to be added was the title, and Thibault added this and posted the map in January 2001.
Aside from changing to upright hex art and expanding the map to include areas of Ethengar and other lands to the south, this revised version reprises all the details from the original map except for roads, trails, and Lake Erid. See the previous map’s writeup for details.
The variant version here was part of an experiment with a new palette. Thibault tried it out on a number of maps, but didn’t adopt it throughout his range.
