Thibault’s Wendar, 8 miles per hex v2
Thibault completed work on the terrain for this map in May 2000. He mentioned it on the Mystara Mailing List at the time, but it is unclear if he posted a version of it at that time. His next message on the topic is from Halloween, and it seems to imply that this was indeed the first posted version.
In any case, this is of course a revised version of his seminal Wendar v1 map, with his new upright hex art and revised palette. The main new feature of this version is the addition of three new villages suggested by Ricardo “Darkblood” Matheus. These make their debut on this map, although the northern village was missing its label at this time. It doesn’t appear that Thibault ever updated this map.
Some time later, Thibault went back and revised his previous version, implementing the new palette as well as adding the three new villages. That map included the missing label, which should read “Northwood”.
Thibault would go on to create one more edition of Wendar a few years later.

Chronological Analysis
This is a fan-made map. It was published in 2000. The updated Atlas version of this map is currently available at Thorfinn Tait Cartography here. See also Appendix C for annual chronological snapshots of the area. For the full context of this map in Mystara’s publication history, see the upcoming Let’s Map Mystara 2000. (Please note that it may be some time before the project reaches this point.)
The following lists are from the Let’s Map Mystara project. Additions are new features, introduced in this map; Revisions are changes to previously-introduced features; Hex Art & Fonts track design elements; and finally Textual Additions are potential features found in the related text. In most cases, the Atlas adopts these textual additions into updated and chronological maps.

Additions
- Settlements — The villages of Doriath, Kevar, and Northwood are suggestions by Ricardo Matheus, added here for the first time. Note, however, that Northwood’s label was left out. So although the village itself appeared here first, in fact it was not named until Thibault carried these revisions back to the previous version of his Wendar map.
