Thibault’s Known World, 24 miles per hex v1
September 1999 saw the posting of Thibault’s expanded Known World 24 miles per hex map, which he called his “Pre-WotI” (pre-Wrath of the Immortals, i.e. 1000 AC) map. A glance at the list of sources below should reveal just how much effort he put into it, as it cleverly updates the original versions of the Known World map with numerous details from the Gazetteer series — something that no one at TSR ever got around to doing.
At the same time, he incorporated his solution for the CM1/X11 conflict, expanding the map north to include most of Norwold, and east to include most of the northern part of the Isle of Dawn. The northwestern area of the map even includes adaptations from 72 mile per hex maps to fill in the corner.
All in all, to the trained eye this map is a tour de force in Mystaran mapping, bringing together a veritable host of source maps of various scales and compiling them all into this single 24 mile per hex image.
The third map below is the initial posted version, with a grey hex grid. The second has a black hex grid, while the first, directly below, is the final version with revised palette and other art fixes.
A few months after he released the final revision of this map, Thibault released a new version using his updated hex art. As with many of his later maps, he never adding the labels to the stand-alone version (though he did put them on a combined trail map version), which means that in some ways the version below is his most complete Known World map.

Chronological Analysis
This is a fan-made map. It was first published in 1999, and revised in 2000 and 2001. The updated Atlas version of this map is not yet available. See also Appendix C for annual chronological snapshots of the area. For the full context of this map in Mystara’s publication history, see the upcoming Let’s Map Mystara 1999. (Please note that it may be some time before the project reaches this point.)
The following lists are from the Let’s Map Mystara project. Additions are new features, introduced in this map; Revisions are changes to previously-introduced features; Hex Art & Fonts track design elements; and finally Textual Additions are potential features found in the related text. In most cases, the Atlas adopts these textual additions into updated and chronological maps.
